我的兩次與數位典藏的交網經驗

先談一下:[The Herbert A. Simon Collection], Carnegie Mellon University Archives, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

CMU大學現在有六位學人或政治家的數位典藏(Senator H.J. Heinz III Papers 、Dr. Herbert A. Simon Papers 、Dr. Allen Newell Papers 、Dr. Clifford Glenwood Shull Papers 、Dr. Joseph Traub Papers、 Dr. Takeo Kanade Paper)其中Simon和Newell的,由於與人工智慧和經濟管理等相關,我稍有接觸。就我而言,Simon 是20世紀了不起的一位學者,所以我翻譯過他的成名作『管理行為』(Administrative Behavior ,1996年第四版,這可以說是他一生主要學說的一全景圖和縮影。)。我翻譯過程中與他通了約35封信函(多半為電子信)。我的名字hanching chung 出現在他的作品論文集的 Administrative Behavior 一書的簡記。

The Herbert A. Simon Collection 建立初期(約2003),我輸入hanching chung 可以得出我以信件方式寫給他的掃瞄檔,解釋他過去50年資料中,記載著台灣翻譯過Administrative Behavior的,乃是一誤會等等。

不過,我2007年再訪問The Herbert A. Simon Collection ,竟然找不到到我的大名,所以我寫信問網站管理員,再由她轉給The Herbert A. Simon Collection 主持人--他向我解釋基於個人隱私和版權等等,將我的刪除,不過他們存有我們通信的35張在檔案中,歡迎我有空造訪匹茲堡時去參觀The Herbert A. Simon Collection
